Health psychology is a new field of psychology, dating from the late 1970s, which has rapidly increased in importance, and will continue to do so in foreseeable future. In this article we analyse the relevance to health in psychology, the appearance of health psychology, the concepts related to it (behavioral medicine, behavioral health, clinical psychology, psychosomatic medicine, experimental psychophysiology, medical sociology, and medical anthropology). We conclude that other areas, both inside and outside psychology address similar questions and some writers appear to be using the terms behavioral health, behavioral medicine and health psychology as synonyms. In this paper we analized too the actuality stage of health psychology in your activities and interactions, and we also predict the trends that will be of greatest interest and so be the most rapidly developed in the next few years, as well as discussing different problems arising from the fields rapid development that need to be solved.
